Shri S.B.S. Tyagi, IPS (Retd.) is an accomplished public servant, security strategist, mentor, and governance expert whose career reflects excellence, integrity, and dedication to nation-building.

A Gold Medalist in Physics and Best Graduate of Patna University, he began his professional journey as a Lecturer in Physics before joining public service in 1984. He later became an IPS officer of the AGMUT Cadre and served in numerous leadership positions across Delhi Police and Andaman & Nicobar Islands Police.

His distinguished assignments included Prime Minister's Security, Deputy Commissioner of Police (VVIP Traffic), Deputy Commissioner of Police at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Superintendent of Police South Andaman, DCP Crime & Railways, Additional Commissioner of Police (Security & Traffic), and ultimately Joint Commissioner of Police, Delhi.

During his tenure at Rashtrapati Bhavan, he worked closely with President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and President Pratibha Patil and was responsible for some of India's most sensitive security operations and state visits. His contribution to national security earned him appreciation from U.S. Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

His exemplary service was recognized with:
• President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service (2006)
• President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service (2012)
• Lt. Governor's Commendation Certificate (2012)

After retirement, he transitioned into leadership advisory roles with Tata Power, Indus Towers, and various organizations, helping strengthen security systems, disaster management frameworks, and operational excellence.

A lifelong learner and mentor, Shri Tyagi remains passionate about public service, law, governance, Hindi literature, leadership development, and preserving India's civilizational values for future generations.

For more than three decades, S.B.S. Tyagi, IPS (Retd.) dedicated his life to protecting institutions, strengthening public trust, and serving the nation with integrity. From classrooms to command centers, from crime investigations to presidential security, his journey reflects a rare blend of intellectual excellence, operational leadership, and unwavering commitment to public service. A two-time recipient of the President's Police Medal, he remains an inspiring example of ethical leadership, discipline, and nation-first thinking.

Born with a passion for learning and excellence, S.B.S. Tyagi distinguished himself academically by becoming a Gold Medalist in Physics and the Best Graduate of Patna University. His professional journey began as a Lecturer of Physics, where he nurtured young minds and developed a deep appreciation for knowledge, discipline, and analytical thinking. His responsibilities ranged from Prime Ministerial Security and VVIP Traffic Management to Crime Investigation, Railway Security, Public Order, and Presidential Protection. One of the defining chapters of his career was his service at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he worked closely with President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and President Pratibha Patil. Responsible for safeguarding India's highest constitutional office and coordinating security for global dignitaries, he witnessed leadership at the highest level. The humility, vision, and simplicity of Dr. Kalam left a profound impact on him and reinforced his belief that true leadership is measured not by authority but by service and character.

His exemplary service was recognized with the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2006 and the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2012. He also received appreciation from U.S. Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama for exceptional security arrangements during their historic visits to India.
