Over his long career, Mr. Singh has headed everything from state tourism to finance to transport. Before we dive in, a quick intro to our guest. Dhanpat Singh (born 10 April 1960) joined the IAS in 1985, quickly establishing himself as a dedicated administrator. He retired as Additional Chief Secretary and Finance Commissioner in 2020, and soon after was entrusted with the constitutional duty of conducting fair elections across Haryana. His work has ranged from organizing the famous Surajkund Crafts Mela to improving rural housing and transportation.
